Tripps

Tripps are generally happy, fun and adventurous, although the “fun” is usually on their terms.Don’t expect to always have a good time with Tripps. They can turn on a dime and what might be fun to them, might look more like a psychedelic nightmare to a human. Think Willy Wonka’s terrifying tunnel song in the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Many cultures have revered Tripps as a quasi-deity of the intoxicated; much like an evening spent taking hallucinogens, spending time with one can also lead to you waking up with some very questionable memories and your wallet, phone and car keys missing.Personality Traits:
- Mischievous
- Charismatic
- Careless
- Generally good-natured
- Imaginative
- Multifaceted

Slimer

Many SOMO maintain similar characteristics throughout their evolutions. This is not the case for Slimer. In base form, they are distracted, playful and curious. As they evolve they appear to age accordingly, becoming bratty, rude and adventurous before ending up haughty, quick to anger and rather self serious. One hypothesis for the change is the fact that there don’t appear to be many Level 3 Slimers. This is thought to have been caused by many Level 1s and 2s wandering off into the sunset only to disappear or evaporate far from water sources. Slimers who do become Level 3s are usually the ones to stay put and focus on bettering themselves. While this might make them successful, it also makes them terribly boring, and naive. But, be warned. Although their appearance might be cute, and their actions silly, Slimer is no pushover when it comes to battling other SOMO. Their water-based body makes them very difficult to attack and they use this to their advantage, especially at higher levels, absorbing extreme damage with a grin on their face.Personality Traits:
- Adventurous
- Friendly
- (At Level 3) Stern
- (At Level 3) Self-serious
- Disorderly
- Forgetful

Bloomi

Bloomi were once one of the more common SOMO. In recent years they have drastically reduced in number, as their forest homes have been destroyed.Bloomi are typically quiet and well mannered. You might imagine that they would avoid loud and smelly creatures like humans. But, throughout history, many Bloomi have interacted with us. They have inspired many different myths and legends, such as the Kodama in Japan or the Leshy in Eastern Europe.Bloomi are naturally curious and kind natured. They have a particular affinity for looking after injured or lost beings. A lost and hungry hiker might find a new bush with edible berries right outside his tent firs thing in the morning. Occasionally a hunter might stalk an injured deer into a hollow, only to find that the deer has miraculously recovered and is hopping into the distance.Their interactions with humans are not always peaceful. Cross a Bloomi in the wrong way and you might have thorny vines hold you in place, or any seeds you had for lunch might germinate to full size in your stomach.Bloomi’s primary focus is always the protection of the forest and the things they love at all costs. For this reason, they make a wonderful addition to any team of SOMO.Personality Traits:
- Caring
- Peaceful
- Enigmatic
- Unchanging
- Delicate
- Asocial

ALTER

Like many 21st century nightmares, Alter started “life” as an extraordinary app touted to revolutionize how we live our lives. All that is known about Alter's origin is that the code monkeys who created the app somehow managed to accidentally trap a malignant spirit within the code. Alter lived secretly for many years, no doubt learning to live in its new found physical form.In the early days, Alter would float from website to website, forum to forum, learning about our world through the minds of digital creators and forum mods - a hell we can only imagine. At some point, Alter learned to duplicate itself. It slowly spread, device to device, router to router, down fiberoptic cables, and along the seafloor in submarine communication cables. Eventually, it infects everything and anything not protected.Capturing an Alter is no easy feat. Experts use methods more akin to spiritual mediums than hackers to successfully identify and capture Alters. They tend to be arrogant individuals, considering biological life to be below them. Experiencing life through the back of a screen has left them incredibly naive. Teach them about the outside world to gain their trust.Perhaps it was the original Alters god complex or its crushing loneliness that led it to create so many copies of itself, but it’s reportedly impossible to tell the copies apart. Maybe your SOMO is the original. Who’s to say?Personality Traits:
- Incisive
- Calculating
- Proud
- Arrogant
- Naive
- Hard Working

DRAKK

Throughout history, Drakk sightings have been few and far between. This can be partially blamed, much like an Albatross, that once they take wing they will not roost for many years. They will fly where they are most comfortable, between 10 - 50,000 feet above the ground. Sightings have increased greatly in the era of commercial flights. It was thought that fully evolved Drakks did not sleep. In recent times, it has been discovered that their complex flying behaviour, known as basking (where they stay in one place and twist and knot in on themselves endlessly), is actually how they sleep. They omit a powerful hypnotic psychic aura, which draws any living creature to stare into the endless twists. This form of hypnosis can elicit a feeling of understanding and inner peace on anything affected by it.Many early cultures mistook Drakk for an omen of evil or even a God, a role which Drakk is in no way suited to. In general, Drakk tend to be carefree individuals, floating from one thing which brings them joy, to another. Because of this, they can sometimes appear to be absent-minded and a little hedonistic. If something endangers their nest, or anything which the Drakk has bonded with, expect swift and vengeful destruction.Personality Traits:
- Cheerful
- Loveable
- Hedonistic
- Absentminded
- Hypnotic
- Mystical

Chungus

Chungus are one of the more interesting SOMO, biologically. Their two elements are very strong. They actually share the same types as Aura. But, Chungus don’t appear to be particularly powerful at all. They don’t appear to have much drive, instead opting to sleep most of the time.Recent studies have shown that Chungus sleep, on average, up to 19 hours a day. To them, this sleep is vital, as their bodies need to process the cosmic powers within. Think of this as similar to us, after a particularly large, hearty meal, the Chungus basically just needs to sleep it off.Do not make the mistake of assuming that Chungus will be friendly. While they might be sleepy, fluffy and have what can only be described as a smiley face on their round stomachs, they are one of the more dangerous SOMO… while they’re awake. Grizzly bears are cute while hibernating, but waking one up would be a mistake you wouldn’t make twice. That being said, Chungus seem to want to care and protect for the young of any species. From their own unevolved origin, to lion cubs and even human children, Chungus will go out of their way to protect them. It has been theorized that the image on Chungus belly changes depending on the species viewing it, to project a feeling of comfort within their young. To humans it’s a smiley face, to dogs this might be a juicy bone, or a big muddy puddle and seagulls might see an unprotected container of chips or a rotten herring. Due to their protective nature Chungus are a great defensive addition to any SOMO team.Personality Traits:
- Sleepy
- Protective
- Irritable
- Cuddly
- Mellow
- Inert

Techno-G

As soon as SOMO were revealed to humans, we tried to find ways to weaponise them. Techno-Gs have been the only success.During the event which brought SOMO to our universe, many were trapped in-between dimensions. Thought of by humans as ghosts, these spirits were left partially on earth and partially on the SOMO home planet. Scientists managed to trap one of these spirits inside a mechanical body, thus creating a Techno-G.They are generally naive but curious about earth and our societies. Due to their extended existence between planes of reality, they are prone to suffer from bouts of wild rage and extremely chaotic behaviour. The scientists who created them did not expect this volatility, and many Techno-Gs escaped into the wild creating the wild groups you can find today. Generally when approaching a Techno-G, you should go alone and with gifts of interesting knick-knacks, which they might enjoy studying. Once their trust is gained they are lifelong allies, unless of-course you do something to break that trust, at which point they will become a formidable enemy.Perhaps, due to their creation or their origin, Techno-G are true anarchists. They live in small groups with rotating “leaders” elected by the community on a regular basis, surviving through barter with human communities and subsistence farming. They hate all governmental organizations, especially any trying to control them. Individual Techno-Gs can be found working for expert hackers or even engineers in small businesses. This is only for a short time as Techno-Gs do not like being alone for very long.Personality Traits:
- Naive
- Intelligent
- Curious
- Defensive
- Chaotic
- Angry

Graven

For millennia, Gravens have been seen as the omen of death. In some cultures it is said that one even guards the gates to the afterlife. It is thought that Gravens gain power from the concept of death, even if the death happened many years prior. They tend to linger around areas associated with death, tending to only make their grisly reputation worse.Graven are asocial creatures, preferring their own company, and avoiding groups as often as possible. They have particularly high intelligence for SOMO, showing an interest in collecting money.Using their soul element, Gravens use ghostly apparitions to do the majority of their work. They seem to gain more and more apparitions as they evolve. While young, that could be one or two. Once fully evolved, that may be an army.Personality Traits:
- Secretive
- Quiet
- Serious
- Gloomy
- Asocial
- Competitive
